Jingle dress →
Jingle Dress dance – The article is primarily about the dance and the origins of it. This would only take some minor rewriting of the lede and some restructuring of the body. This would also make it consistent with other pow wow dance style articles. Thoughts?

Uninformed but ready support - knowing nothing about the subject, but looking at article format footer and briefly round Google Books (particularly lighting on Matthew Krystal Indigenous Dance and Dancing Indian 2011) this seems like a reasonable article-improving reader friendly proposal. The dress isn't worn as an independent fashion item, it seems, so notability derives from the dance. Deflagro's capitalisation also seems in line with printed sources. Thank you Deflagro for inviting comment.

Oppose: the term refers to both the regalia and the competition, no need for either a longer name or to split the article. Both forms are used, as seen
here and
here, it is typical to refer to the dances with the word "dance" dropped in many cases (Fancy dance and grass dance being the ones that commonly append "dance" to the title, whereas Traditional, straight, jingle dress, are usually identified without the word "dance" appended) Google will be of little help, as there are web pages that go both ways. The capitalization issue is being debated across all the dance articles, as the wiki MOS cops who care like sentence case better than title case, but I'm taking no view on that, except to say that the MOS police will just want us to change it to lower case later, so beware.

Comment: Right now the subject of the article is about the actual dress. With this move it'd be changing the focus from the dress to the actual dance and make it a consistent naming with the other dance articles. I interpreted Jingle Dress as a proper noun so that's why I capitalized Dress.

Reply: Can't really separate the regalia from the dance, as you point out, one is linked to the other. Looks like there is some on the dance too, though. I don't have super strong feelings on this, just my view.

Oppose. "Jingle dress" implies both the dress and the dance, so it's fine as a title. However, if it were to be moved, the capitalization would be "Jingle dress dance." -

Comment: Instead of moving it, would anyone be opposed to the subject of the article being changed to the dance? Right now, the only parts that focus specifically on the dress is the Lede sentence and the two sections on Original vs Contemporary. The rest of the Lede and the Origins are all talking about the dance.

I see no problem expanding the article, the regalia and the dance are pretty inseparable. I don't think the title needs to be changed for that to happen. If you have good material to add, go ahead and add it!
