Post War English & Scottish Football League A - Z Player's Database

The Post War English & Scottish Football League A - Z Player's Database has some different information about McAnearney's life and career:

  • It has him born in 1933, not 1935.
  • It also says he never played for Bradford City.

Do we know if the Post War... (which is normally extremely reliable) is correct in this instance? Giant Snowman 13:40, 2 January 2009 (UTC) reply

The info for Bradford City and his date of birth comes from the Terry Frost book on Bradford City. I'm guessing the post-war site is wrong on this occasion. Peanut4 ( talk) 19:04, 2 January 2009 (UTC) reply
Just updating. The above link is to a different McAnearney. I've also corrected the stats, which are actually wrong in the back of the Frost book but the individual totals are correct. How bizarre that you've spotted an error but for the wrong reason!! Intuition I'll give you.
I actually wonder if Tom (above) is Jim's brother? Peanut4 ( talk) 00:04, 3 January 2009 (UTC) reply
How odd! I simply saw the McAnearney name, and put 2 + 2 together, but came up with 5...if both are from Dundee and played for Wednesday then I would err and say they are brothers. Giant Snowman 01:07, 3 January 2009 (UTC) reply
They are indeed brothers. Created a stub. Peanut4 ( talk) 01:28, 3 January 2009 (UTC) reply
