Someone wrote: Some scientists correlate this event with a volcanic winter, possibly due to the eruption of Thera c. 1628 BC. Who are those some scientists and where did they publish this theory?? Thanks Guss2 14:03, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Hello! What is the use of adding the literally translation of the entry of Jie from the Bamboo Annals to this article? It makes the article a mess because no single name has been explained and no single event has been put in context. They all are mentioned in just the same cryptic way as the bamboo annals do. Therefore I think these additions should be rewritten by comparing them with Shiji (chapter 3 on Yin) and subsequently a running story should be made from both sources. If not, then I think the additions as they are in the article now can better be removed. Guss2 23:11, 9 June 2007 (UTC).
I've added links to highlight many loose ends; seems that some of them may need a separate article, if nothing else to explain what the subject is; a number of details clearly have no bearing on Jie reign, and if they are really needed, they belong to other articles via a link; some of them may be directly explained in the body of the article, like the mysterious Renchen 壬辰, probably renshen (壬申) from the Chinese calendar correspondence table, with an allusion to the disputed chronologies. This article needs some kind of disclaimer: the last rulers of any dynasty in China were always portrayed in an extremely negative fashion to justify their removal by the new dynasty, history written by the winners if you will. Therefore all these colorful atrocities mentioned in the article should be regarded as exagerations at best and pure fabrications at worst. 84.132.102.189 ( talk) 09:40, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
