Actually, I was also going by my memory of French pronunciation (and making a bad guess therefrom). So far as I remember Faure without a é would just be pronounced "Fawr"- which of course may be exactly how it's meant to be pronounced (unlike, e.g., Gabriel-Urbain Fauré.) But as to its being a not uncommon French surname even without the accent (which leaves the question of pronunciation, which I for one would like to see put in, since I'm guessing some people are likely to get it confused) - that's the important thing, yes- thanks for that info.
