I'll bring this up again. The whole awards section of his filmography is a lie. There is absolutely no source for any of this. His IMDB awards page does not cite any of those nominations. How such a fabrication can go unnoticed on Wikipedia is beyond me. As for his crazy fans, please consider whether making it up that he was nominated for any of these awards means anything. 86.61.109.24 ( talk) 12:01, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
feb 27th 2013 - the band disappeared, at least from social media. Perchance they are in Atlantis? - @jelly318 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.254.12.31 ( talk) 13:21, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
In keeping with our policy on biographical articles, I've edited some of the personal and more, um, salacious details that were very poorly sourced:
Most of this section was referenced three sources:
So I took what I had from the NYT and the Telegraph and refactored the whole section, leaving alone the Kerrang interview.

2000–06: Worldwide recognition: Please change "heroin addicted character" to "heroin-addicted character"
Early life and education: Please change "food stamp poor" to "food-stamp poor."
Don't have access to edit this myself, and am new to using a talk page.. Thank you.

Now Jared Leto uses a Martin Standard Series, models HD-28 or HD-28V (Acoustic) Please add this to the section of 'Instruments' You can see this in this links ---> http://www.martinguitar.com/series/item/190-hd-28.html http://www.martinguitar.com/series/item/189-hd-28v.html http://radiocomercial.iol.pt/upload/OUTROS/892970_10151978206799617_980229728_o.jpg http://www.thirtysecondstomars.com/tour/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/8077549_wenn20450893-550x412.jpg http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3SerljpqOqE/Ul7S1m8E_DI/AAAAAAAAApI/A35NvzM-RFU/s1600/P1000822.JPG JeanJaramillo ( talk) 04:31, 2 January 2014 (UTC)
This, people, is a criticism of the article, not of Mr Leto - don't want anyone going off the rails.
One supposes that Mr Leto's Oscar win means another Niagara of breathless fanformation, sorry John and Hullaballoo Wolfowitz. WHY do we get an entire book on him? Sadly Wikipedia isn't on the road to being an encyclopedia any longer. It is a sad agglomeration of fan factoids and advertisements. 74.15.42.191 ( talk) 19:30, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
I have checked Jared Leto's movie lists on various sites and I do not see Phone Booth which starred Colin Farrell. I may be mistaken but I could swear that Jared Leto was one of the Colin's character's clients - Colin played a promoter and Jared appeared as a musician. Anyone have anything to back this up or did I just see someone who looked like him?? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 167.181.12.201 ( talk) 23:53, 20 January 2007 (UTC).
According to IMDB's listing for Phone Booth in the Trivia section, Leto's scene was deleted from the film, but was then returned for television airings. - TJLink 08:11, 5 February 2007 (UTC) Jared Leto is now definately with a woman named Stephani from Philadelphia as they have been seen together in Belgium while filming Mr. Nobody and have been spotted in People Magazine and US Weekly as well as him admitting to their relationship on avid Letterman on July 7, 2007 - a day before her birthday. This proves he is NOT gay and happily with a blonde beauty. He seemd obsessed with her.
In the movie section it lists "last of the high kings" and "summer fling" these are both the same movie, "summer fling" being the USA release title. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.134.52.129 ( talk) 02:15, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

I would debate that "Their debut album, 30 Seconds to Mars (2002), was released to critical acclaim but only to limited success.[4]"
The reviews on that album from reputable critics are *overwhelmingly* negative. Can we get this removed?

Our law firm represents Jared Leto. Please be advised that the Wikipedia artical about Jared Leto contains erroneous and unverified information which we request be immediately corrected. Jared Leto was not born Jared Bryant. This needs to be deleted from his page and form all articles regarding Jared Leto. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Legal Representative ( talk • contribs) 19:54, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
The Wikipedia Page about Jared Leto contains erroenous information which should be corrected. He was not born Jared Bryant. His name has always been Jared Leto. 19:56, 17 December 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Legal Representative ( talk • contribs)
The claim that Tony Bryant is Jared Leto's natural father is erroneous. It is based on an Ancestry.com entry for a marriage of a Constance Metrejon in 1969 to a Tony L Bryant. This is the year before Shannon Leto was born. However, the marriage took place in Texas, not Louisiana, where Constance Leto's family appear to be based. Someone has simply put 2 and 2 together and come up with 5. It is not the correct Constance Metrejon.
I have removed the second reference to Tony Bryant in the Early Life section, although someone reverted the edit. I have removed it again. Jarrit29 ( talk) 19:45, 26 December 2013 (UTC)
I do not believe for one minute that a law firm for Jared Leto is monitoring this page. If so,they cannot spell the word from. Some occupations (musician, producer and businessman) has been removed twice by User:Bbb23, who called them "unjustified and or redundant". However, they appear to be notable since: 1) Leto plays guitars and several other instruments for Thirty Seconds to Mars and thus he is a musician and just "singer-songwriter" does not mean "musician"; 2) He served as record producer for every album by Thirty Seconds to Mars. He has also produced every film he directed and co-produced some films which he starred; 3) He runs three businesses which make him a businessman. I've restored these occupations and invited the user to use the talk page.-- Earthh ( talk) 20:20, 6 April 2014 (UTC)
Can someone please explain to me why the reference to Jared Leto's father's suicide has been removed? The source for this is an interview given by Leto to The London Evening Standard. Leto reposted the article to his own website here http://jaredleto.com/thisiswhoireallyam/2014/03/20/interview-london-evening-standard/. Why is this not a reliable source for the information? Someone keeps insisting that a spurious Polish 'biography' that has no authorised authority and only contains information gleaned from the internet and does not contain any direct interviews with the Letos is a reliable biographical authority. Can someone please explain why? Jarrit29 ( talk) 19:54, 9 April 2014 (UTC)

There have been many allegations against Jared online and in real life, and I believe one was even brought to the police in 2002, regardless of the validity they should be added in a section. Perhaps “controversy’s” or “allegations” would be a good header 203.30.3.16 ( talk) 00:25, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
Section Politics says "Leto lives a vegan lifestyle and supports animal rights.[106]" citing a 2010 reference. However in this more recent interview he states that he is no longer a vegan https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vfu2wczrsFE
There needs to be more in this article about his acting career and especially his role in Lord of War which would easily be his most prominent movie role yet.
In section film it is stated Leto initially went to Hollywood to pursue a music career but it can not be actually verified because he has never stated such a thing before. So there is no reason to write such a thing as he was only focused on developing an acting career (what can be actually confirmed by the facts and then-interviews) and officially became involved in music when formed a band years later. It is completely unacceptable to include this in the article as long as it looks like a fiction story.
He gained weight and got gout at one point. [1] [2]

It seems a little weird the extent to which the article sort of dances around his father; the Polish source (site with, apparently, excerpts from a published biography) cited for his mother gives the father also- Tony Bryant- so surely ought to be included here as is standard format? He evidently played virtually no part in his son's upbringing, but it seems oddly worded and evasive as-is. If the Polish site is good enough for the mother, it ought to suffice for the father also, surely?
