An interesting factoid I think should be included in this biography: Sen. Grimes suffered a stroke towards the end of the Johnson impeachment trial. Not only was he one of the seven Republicans to vote not guilty; recovering from his stroke, he had himself carried to the senate floor in order to vote for Johnson's acquittal. This episode is mentioned in JFK's Profiles in Courage -- Pstump ( talk) 02:14, 27 June 2015 (UTC)
