James Paul Gee meets the Notability Guidelines for Academics. Specifically, in accordance with guideline 5, he holds "a named/personal chair appointment... at a major institution of higher education and research." His named chair status is described on his ASU bio page here: https://webapp4.asu.edu/directory/person/1054842 . A search of his publications through Google Scholar shows that he is highly cited, demonstrating that he also meets guideline 1, "the person's research has made significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources". -- Jlwelsh ( talk) 20:47, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

Does anyone know how to pronounce "Gee"? Is it a hard or soft "g"?-- Girl2k ( talk) 22:53, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Girl2k, I'm 99% certain it is pronounced with a soft g. Hope this helps! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Teachercc ( talk • contribs) 00:50, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
It is a soft g. You'll find confirmation of this by searching for some of his conference talks on youtube. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Byersbs ( talk • contribs) 05:18, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
It's been 4 years now since the COI tag was added to the article. I've just reviewed it and can't see any way to make it more neutral (which is to say, I don't think it is WP:POV-ey). If anyone disagrees obviously just add the tag back on, but if you do so could you also add a note here explaining what specifically is of concern. Sjgknight ( talk) 19:11, 25 May 2014 (UTC)
Why is Gee's work in this arena notable? He is basically duplicating what many philosophers (e.g. N-identity is the same as the Existentialists' facticity) have said in the past. 2602:302:D150:1930:C93D:76E4:A541:476A ( talk) 23:46, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
