There a number of problems with this article. It says Ulrich von Hassell was the German ambassador to Italy in 1940, which is quite a feat because Hitler fired Hassell as his ambassador to Italy in 1938. Bryans was trying to contact German conservatives like Hassell to discuss the peace terms which Britain would make with a post-Nazi Germany. This article is really wrong in insinuating that Bryans was trying to set up a peace deal with Nazi Germany in 1940. -- A.S. Brown ( talk) 04:55, 23 August 2018 (UTC)
