Identification

This is the James Campbell of s:Campbell, James (1773?-1835) (DNB00). There is an actual reference about the son James Campbell ( http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=QTI0AAAAIAAJ, p. 189 if snippet), that shows that the acting governorship in Ceylon fits into the 1820s gap in Campbell's career as described in the DNB.
