comment Hi
PC78, Thank you for your comment and sorry for tagging you. When I found this article I realised that it is about Baʽdan mountain. Usually it is spelled as Jabal Ba'dan or Jabal Baʽadan in sources (Jabal means mount in
Arabic). I didn't know this request would be discussed in this way (editors would need to comment and vote) I thought it would be just a request, now I want to move to Jabal Baʽadan or Jabal Baʽdan. For the differences between (') and (ʽ) (I think) we use unicode character rather than punctuation in names as Kwamikagami explained
here. Thanks--

Fair enough, the new proposed name seems to be consistant with other pages in
Category:Mountains of Yemen so I have no objection there. With regards to punctuation, the only relevant guideline I can find is
MOS:PUNCT which says to use "U+02BF MODIFIER LETTER LEFT HALF RING and U+02BE MODIFIER LETTER RIGHT HALF RING"; this appears to be used correctly at
Jaʿār for example, though in practice it seems to be very inconsistant. Looking at
Category:Populated places in Hadhramaut Governorate, many articles appear to be using an accent mark (perhaps incorrectly?) while some use a normal apostrophe. This isn't my area of expertise though so you may need a bit more guidance.
