What would really make this article useful is if we could get dated maps of the establishment of settlements in Israel to go along with the timeline, particularly a set of maps in the same format but showing the settlement growth. I'm not sure if there are many such maps already on Wikipedia or elsewhere, but if someone could point them out to me or tell me where I could get them it would be a great help. I know a scatter graph is not a good idea for a population vs time plot, but because there are many missing data points line graphs look wrong because the lines go to zero when they really should just be interpolated between the existing data points. I'm using OpenOffice spreadsheet to create this graph so if anyone can tell me how to make a proper graph that ignores missing data points that would be great. Factsontheground ( talk) 11:55, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
I create a line graph by linearly interpolating between the known data points, since the data is a little spotty, but a line graph with dots on it to show where the data points are would be superior. I just don't know how to do that with OpenOffice. Factsontheground ( talk) 04:19, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
Some sort of objective guidelines should drawn up to decide what should or should not be included. Otherwise this page could be bottomless. Just think of adding a line for each of the 200 or so settlements for starters. Another issue is recentism. The content of 2009 for instance, is entirely NN. These announcements or news are not unique and have many reoccurences over the years - building freezes and statements by presidents inculded. -- Shuki ( talk) 20:14, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
What was the first West Bank settlement and when was it established? 1967 or 1972? Liquidpappe ( talk) 02:51, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
I would like to propose that 1948 is added to the timeline of settlements.
As per 'talk' in 'israeli settlement' I will be introducing new section under history which will cover israeli settlements between 1948 - 1967.

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Israeli settlement timeline's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
Reference named "auto1":
I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. Feel free to remove this comment after fixing the refs. AnomieBOT ⚡ 19:07, 21 August 2023 (UTC)
