I doubt that there is a great deal to say about the collective history of these islands and the best way to improve the article seems to me to be to create a summary of the individual island articles. Ben Mac Dui 12:31, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

Very well illustrated, well researched and well written. Broad in coverage with a substantial amount of detail also. Good referencing. Neutral and stable. Passed.

I'm not sure the last line of the intro section is relevant, i.e. "There are relatively few islands of any size off eastern Scotland, and most of those that are, are in this group." The article is about the islands of the Forth. If the reader wants to know about the islands of Scotland then there should be a separate article about the 'islands of Scotland'. Also, the protracted (though modestly, I admit!) mention of Scotland assumes a national viewpoint or national interest which is not necessarily the case for every reader. I suggest the sentence should be deleted (though I do agree the article is good!). -- Laird of abbeyhill ( talk) 21:22, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
