Al-Nusra Front said that this was a Joint statement not a Coalition. 3bdulelah ( talk) 13:26, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
There isn't much info on the groups yet, but I think that Army of Islam and the other group formed by 11 rebel factions are two distinct groups. [1] David O. Johnson ( talk) 17:20, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
The Army of Islam is a different group. I am going to try to move this article back. Reuters already has an article on the Army of Islam, so I will start an article on it. [2] This 11 group coalition is seemingly less developed than the Army of Islam. David O. Johnson ( talk) 06:55, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
I've moved the article back. David O. Johnson ( talk) 07:05, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
I've started the article on the Army of Islam here: Army of Islam (Syrian). That article should be at Army of Islam (Syria) but that article name currently redirects to this article (I'm quite sure that occurs because that was the recent name of this article) and I don't know how to change the redirect. What I did was change the article name slightly and started the article on that page. David O. Johnson ( talk) 17:45, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for your help. I've copied the info from the Army of Islam article to the Army of Islam (Syria) page, though the old Army of Islam (Syrian) page still exists, so I will request a deletion for it. David O. Johnson ( talk) 19:42, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
This coalition does not exist. it was a joint statement not a coalition. 3bdulelah ( talk) 14:06, 22 November 2013 (UTC)
On 13 May 2013, I made a copy-and-paste move of this page from Islamic coalition (Syria). This was before I had a proper understanding of Wikipedia policy and it’s something I regret. Because of this, I think a WP:HISTMERGE is necessary here. Charles Essie ( talk) 20:40, 5 January 2018 (UTC)
