This is a talk page dedicated to addressing the topic of Yasir Qadhi and his anti-semitic comments and other controversies associated with him in the past. Although this specific incident did not occur in DFW, it is still associated with Qadhi who now resides in DFW and is an Imam there.
@ NerdyGenius1: we obviously have a disagreement on whether this is related to Islam in DFW, which I do see it is related because the individual resides there, and his views stem from his interpretation on Islamic theology. These are the points that I believe should be compacted:
Someone removed these controversies off of his wikipedia page, particularly his comments on stoning adulters and killing homosexuals. He also made remarks about cutting the hands off of thieves. There should be a way to compact these statements into a paragraph with all the sources.
For HLF:
In a compact manner
I will still push for the Yasir Qadhi's section to exist, although I meant to trim the section a while ago to relevant information instead of all the background. Including for the Holy Land Foundation, which you seemed keen on including criticism of it - even if it was still ruled on and led to the imprisonment of various members,. The section for both should be narrowed down to key points of the controveries, a compact sentence of the criticism, and a conclusion of the outcome (e.g. Qadhi apologized for his anti-semitic views, or the HLF resulted in the imprisonment of various members).
If we cannot come to an agreement, I will gladly reach out to a third party to see if any of the controversies are legitimate, and relevant, and to develop a compact version of them as they are not the main focus of the article. ChaoticTexan ( talk) 07:18, 18 February 2022 (UTC)
