"forged a new alliance specifically for the purpose of winning a large contract for new trams for Toronto,[7] but they lost out to another manufacturer, and since then two companies have continued to work separately."
They haven't lost, they were not even allowed to enter the bidding process. And Inekon still continues with the lawsuit against Prague tram system for loosing the bidding process for 250 trams there (won by Škoda, so effectively it is against Škoda). Inekon Tram's parent company Inekon Group has been in formal insolvency trouble since 2018. In 6.2022 it had entered formal bankruptcy proceedings (source: https://svethospodarstvi.cz/byznys/soud-poslal-firmu-inekon-do-konkurzu-nehradila-pohledavky/)
I'd add it to this article but I'm not sure about the correct translation of "insolvency proceedings" and "bankruptcy proceedings" from czech. I believe it's similar to how in the US there's different articles of bankruptcy and some are "softer". Well in 2018 it entered "soft" bankruptcy (insolvency) with reorganization, by 2021 it was clear it was not going to happen (according to what I read) and formal "hard" bankruptcy (ie. company will be dissolved and all of its assets sold at an auction) commenced in 2022 (though I don't believe auctioning has happened yet, and as far as I'm aware the company still operates and does repairs for its clients in the US) Dany0 ( talk) 16:19, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
