So what is a native specimen of Homo Sapien that got where it was without human intervention?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.132.223.239 ( talk) 20:26, 19 July 2010
The first paragraph of this article appears to define native, but does not explain how native relates to indigenous, which is the title of this article. It does not even mention indigenous. Wikipedia articles usually contain a brief definition of the actual title in the first sentence. Nonenmac ( talk) 13:39, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
After analyzing this article I found a couple errors and noticed topics that could be added to make the reading more interesting. I would first like to point out that the references are not the best. The only reference that it has in the article is very out of date, however it is a reliable source. While reading through the article I didn't see how all of the information related to the reference which means they author might have used other sources and failed to cite it. What stood out to me in this article is the meaning of Indigenous and that it is more than the indigenous people, which I did not know. It was interesting to find that animal species were also noted to be Indigenous if it is the result of a natural process. I found this part very intriguing and would have been more intrigued if the author went into further detail about all the different species. I also would have liked if the author used examples of what an indigenous species would be compared to an introduced species to help clarify the difference between the two. Indigenous (ecology) →
Native species – To match
introduced species, and to then merge content currently at
native plant with
native species. "Native" is far more commonly used in ecological context than "indigenous".
