I viewed the text of the declaration at http://jewishvoices.squarespace.com/declaration-2/ , and noticed that there was nothing whatsoever on most of the concrete political issues which have arisen within Britain, such as academic boycotts. Any statement which leaves upleasant individuals like Mona Baker of UMIST free to continue down their path of bias and discrimination unchallenged and uncondemned is rather unlikely to calm the political waters... Independent Jewish Voices, which is based in the UK, appears to be similar to the new American J Street group in motivation and purpose in my opinion. I am surprised that no one has made the explicit comparison yet. -- John Bahrain ( talk) 00:45, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
