Move? 2009
The following discussion is an archived discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the proposal was Moved. "Inception" is now DAB page, now that there is no primary topic (album moved during discussion).

According to
WP:Common name the main title of Inception without the subtitle would be proper. Which ever is better it should not be the main article under this name. --

At least for books (and I see no reason why albums should be different), the
guideline supports using
Orlando: A Biography instead of
Orlando (novel). The optimal choice would be "Inception" (and "Orlando"), but since that title is ambiguous it has to be distinguished from the other titles somehow. In my opinion, bracketed qualifiers should be used for disambiguation only if there's no other logical title for the article. However, the proposed title is definitely better than the current situation as well.

The plain name should be the disambig page.

err whoops, I made the move without reading this.. Anyhow, I agree with the above idea of disambiguation page (and moving Inception album to
Inception (album)), so unless anyone disagrees I guess that's ok?
Feudonym (

This has been added the
Inception dab page and at the top of the
Inception (album) page (as it is less obscure than a 1962 jazz album).
Feudonym (
talk) 06:27, 17 September 2009 (UTC)reply
I can live with that, if the consensus is that this album is the more likely search term. However, the dab page should be moved to
Inception now that there's no primary topic.

Inception (Download (band) album) — to match
Download (band) and to make clear that this is not about downloadable digital content, an album called "Inception" which may be downloaded. As there are several albums with this name, which may be legally or illegally downloaded, the current name is ambiguous.

Opppose. The name of the band is "Download", not "Download (band)". If the preferred title would be ambiguous and the topic is not the primary one for the preferred title, we use a parenthetical disambiguation phrase. For the band, since "Download" is ambiguous, that would be "(band)". For the album, since "Inception" is ambiguous, that would be "(album)", but there are two albums, so it is "(Download album)" instead. --

Comment the set phrase "download album" is not an album by the band Download, it is an album that is downloadable, the disambiguation phrase itself is therefore ambiguous.

Comment - no, grammatically that would be "downloadable album". In the context of Wikipedia, the current title is perfectly acceptable for disambiguation purposes. –

Oppose, per
JHunterJ. Succinctly put. Also note that disambiguating titles should be as simple as possible. –
