Large portions of this page are copied from the presumably copyright-free US army site, [1]. -- Itai 17:10, 15 Jun 2004 (UTC)
The site actually refers to this as the "Iceland Defense Force", not "Icelandic". This article may need to be renamed. -- Ilya 23:55, 29 Jul 2004 (UTC)
FYI, IDF stands for "Iceland Defense Force", not "Icelandic Defense Force" as it's defined in this article. You can verify this by visiting their web page at http://www.nctskef.navy.mil/IDF/. IDF also has almost zero Army personnel; the base is roughly 50-50 Navy and Air Force. There is a Marine Corps security force on the base, though. And the website is a Navy website, not an Army one. I spent 2 1/2 years on the IDF staff when I was in the Navy -- best tour I had my entire career.
