Can someone tell me why Wikipedia has a pokedex?

A lot of the Pokedex-like information on Pokemon is left out of Wikipedia, and is instead in Wikibooks. This is an encyclopedic take on each of the Pokemon species. - WindFish 00:42, 18 January 2006 (UTC) reply
