who wants to extend the home station section with Home energy station ?. Mion 17:02, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
Isn't it true that hydrogen used in the gaseous state in an internal combustion engine requires very high pressure containment vessels, with the related specialty high pressure fittings (and incumbent dangers)?
Also, what is the deal with hydrogen disappearing--actually weeping through steel containment vessels in a relatively short time? Is this true?
It seems that the high-pressure handling obstacles for ICE will move this area all toward fuel cells.
Can I point out that recreational vehicles use LP gas and farm tractors/trucks have used LP for over fifty years. I bring this up because it is a limited example of high pressure gaseous fuel transfer. Its use remains limited. And, I believe that LP is used at pressures far below what would be needed for hydrogen. My point is that handling this stuff is a very technical, dangerous matter--I'd say we are NEVER going to make it to "self-serve" on this stuff. Even if the energy density was there, the transfer danger is a real deal. All this, and the flames are invisible, too! Homebuilding 03:43, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
In safety the key was early detection of leaks, that problem is solved, see Hydrogen microsensor. Mion 12:13, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
Does anyone know what the cost per unit of hydrogen is in California? 72.67.35.214 ( talk) 15:38, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
This page does not indicate that the selling unit of hydrogen is the kilogram. Could Mion please include this information in some manner which won't be reverted? 75.44.32.140 ( talk) 21:26, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
I've a question regarding hydrogen stations, is the hydrogen injected to vehicles in its liquid form or as hydrogen gas? (or both?) I know that that liquid hydrogen needs to be in cryogenic conditions so I was wondering if the tank shown in the picture is storing it as a liquid or just as compressed gas? what's the most common form of storage in these stations? thanks.
