@ StaceyEOB and Cosmicphantom: So we can all learn a lesson, read up. Shadow symbol created this article about "Human Resources" during Unforgetting 5. For whatever reason, Hloman created this article about the same thing during a Wiki Women event on 7 October, just a month later. This second article was proposed for deletion once and has been proposed again just now. What I'll do is let the other article get deleted and bring whatever useful content to here. This nonsense could have been avoided.
In the future, let's remind new editors that they should search and be sure the topic isn't already covered before they wade in. As is the fashion with many of these events, first-time editors seem to leave wiki after spending a couple hours with us. We should also reinforce that the "I'll just throw something together now and develop it more later" attitude isn't a winner because they're never coming back. Furthermore, this leads to wasting the effort of Wikipedians in cleaning up sub-standard articles. I've already started gathering more sources because the deletionists on-wiki will remove anything that doesn't look notable. I'm all for having artists help counter our collective systemic bias but it does no good to duplicate effort. Chris Troutman ( talk) 04:32, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
The other talk page will not be deleted unless this one is deleted. When you merge, you never delete the source page, and if someone does, smack them with a {{ trout}} and make them restore it. Oiyarbepsy ( talk) 21:24, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
