Holden Ute redirect

That was a shocker. The Crewman is a separate entity to the Ute and as such requires its own page. 'Holden Ute' refers to a specific model made by Holden, rather than all ute-type vehicles made by Holden. You have the Ute, the Crewman, the 1 Tonne, and the Rodeo. These are all separate models, and all utes (note the small 'u'). They each have their own page. I've got to be honest, if you were an IP editor, I would have simply assumed vandalism. I really don't understand why that redirect was created, however, if you think it should be reinstated feel free to discuss your reasons on this page, prior to making that edit. The Crewman is essentially a four-door version of the Ute, so it really does not warrant a separate article. This just creates unnecessary content duplication. Since the only major difference between the Ute and the Crewman is the extended cabin why create two article about the same thing? Information regarding the One Tonner is also mentioned in the Ute article, as it is merely a Ute with a alloy cargo bed, and since the Rodeo has no relation to the Commodore architecture, it has a separate article: Isuzu D-Max. Well then I propose a compromise. The Crewman needs more prominence in the Ute article. At the minute (within the Ute article) it appears to be as insignificant as whether or not a Ute is an S, or an SS - however the differences between the Ute and the Crewman are more dramatic, aside from it having a longer wheelbase, shorter tray, and seating for 3 more people, it also comes in a 4WD model - which the Ute does not. I think it needs it's own subsection/subheading. This is the compromise I'm suggesting, however I still do not feel entirely right about the deletion of the Crewman page simply because there are many other instances of this same "content duplication". See Citroën C1 , Peugeot 107 , and Toyota Aygo ; or Hyundai i30 and Kia cee'd. Tinkstar1985 06:23, 3 March 2008 (UTC) reply
