== what was the beatles oringinal name ?????
The discussion about merging this article into The Beatles article has mutated into a discussion involving splitting this article into several articles involving the different stages into the history of The Beatles. The formation stage is already in place as the article about The Quarrymen which was the band John Lennon founded which evolved into The Beatles. Steelbeard1 ( talk) 03:29, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

New article titles may be an issue with the above examples. The Beatles need to be mentioned in all subsequent article titles. An example for the next one could be "History of The Beatles--Cavern Club and Brian Epstein". Steelbeard1 ( talk) 22:32, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
Hold the horses! I have just read this about this article, above: "This article has not yet received a rating on the project's quality scale. This article has not yet received a rating on the project's importance scale."-- andreasegde ( talk) 20:00, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

* There is no official "References" section, and few, if any, in-line references, but the article is very well-rounded. It covers George's entire life: early life, life with the Beatles, and life by decades after that. It has a few pictures, mostly of him, but a few more wouldn't hurt. (Maybe some on the left side of the page?)--

I'm certainly not proposing an AFD-style deletion of the article, but whether The Beatles' history section gets forked for a second time to here (with any good bits from History of The Beatles retained) or whether History of The Beatles gets replaced with a redirect must be up for discussion (see Wikipedia:WikiProject_The_Beatles/Article_Classification#The_big_ones). Note: Article was nominated for deletion in 2004 and the same issues remain. The difference is we're now here and we're gonna do something about it! :-) -- Steve (5 April 2006) The following comments came from the merged article "The Beatles Ltd."
