I am not a subject expert so will be copy editing for grammar, style, flow etc, but the claims of this section need to be verifiable. I will insert "citation needed" tags where I believe a statement needs qualification.

The former page's history now serves to provide attribution for that content in the latter page, and it must not be deleted so long as the latter page exists.
