The article states that the island was abandoned in 1930 - but not stating whether it has been repopulated or not. The Rockall article states that it was later done in 1957. Can we be more clear about this issue? Dinkytown ( talk) 22:20, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

The name St Kilda is probably derived from Norse: søt kilde (sweet source); referring to the springs on the island. Cambayne ( talk) 10:52, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
Perhaps, but without proper citations I am afraid this information is potentially WP:OR. Ben Mac Dui 13:29, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
The map on the page is of Lewis and Harris, not Hirta. As stated in the article, Hirta is part of the St. Kilda islands which are smaller, and to the west of Lewis and Harris. TonyWaters ( talk) 07:15, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
