I removed the extern links since they've been dead for some time and are unlikely to be revived. Since UbiSoft bought all the rights to the series—and are developing HOMM5—they should have a site or page somewhere with the stuff on it. I found an official UbiSoft page with HOMM stuff on it in French, but no English versions. Can anyone else track this down? Is there such a page/site? — Frecklefoot 16:02, 22 Jan 2004 (UTC)
If they were to make new heroes game for the video game system like xbox. what type of races or frations would you think would be used, in my opinion:
1.the imperials: basically this imperialistic humans ruled by an emperor:riders, pikemen, balista, etc.
2.the elves: lots of nature or naturaly magiacal(unicorns etc) creatures.
3. the magi: like the "tower castle" in heroes 3, magicaly gifted race, genies, magi giants.
4.the wood elves: basically these neutral being, that want to balace the univers between good and evil, lots of natrual creatures:wolves, tigers etc.
5.the orcs: warrior races that is neutral: goblins, trolls, cyclopes, etc.
6. the swanp creatures: mostly overgrown lizards or animals that are sentient: gnolls, basilisks, gnolls etc.
7.the barbarians: name speaks for itself. barbarians, nomads etc.
8. the dungeon or underground: mostly creatures of evil nature: beholders, troglatytes, umber hulks etc.
9. the dark elves: counterpart of elves, ruthless, evil wanting to destroy.
10: the undead: name speaks for it self: skeletons, zombies, liches etc.
11.the demons: the name speaks for it self: imps, demons, etc?
finally 12: the "name of the country there from"(eg sirian knights) knights: these humans left the empire for a better life for the greater good: swordsman, paladins, crossbowan etc?
so, what do you think?

Personally I would like to align it in this sort of manner:, between all good, neutral, and all evil, (columns) and mostly might, mostly magic, and mixed (rows)
But, of course, there are much better places to discuss this sort of thing in depth. The forums at www.celestialheavens.com remain one of the best Might and Magic communities around. - LordHoborgXVII
The title of the Chinese MMORPG reported here as 'Might and Magic Online' is actually "Heroes of Might and Magic Online.' It is unclear how they will make an MMORPG of a generally strategy-oriented game, but the game is still in the early stages of production. I would make a page about it, but there is not enough information as of now. - LordHoborgXVII
Added reference to Freeverse's Mac port and what little available information there is now. Might need fleshing out. Included the relevant links
Should remove the section about Heroes 5 development, redirecting the effort to main HoMM5 article Heroes of Might and Magic V
I agree, the HOMM5 section is attrociously written
I suggest this page be moved to Heroes of Might and Magic series since the article discusses the series and not an individual game. As part of Wikipedia:WikiProject_Strategy_games, I'm editing all strategy-related articles to use the same, common naming conventions. SharkD 01:03, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
I removed the list of games because the list is already right below in the might and magic template. The Illusional Ministry ( talk) 20:20, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
From the "Combat" section: "Whenever a player engages in battle, the game changes from the adventure map display to a combat screen, which is based on a hexagonal grid." However HoMM V uses a square-based grid. Axl ( talk) 08:56, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
is there a wikia for this? 24.13.147.29 ( talk) 21:22, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
you probably need proof or reference of all these, so i will upload a photos or images from the game cds (i own a few) as soon as i have some free time
i own these:
* Heroes of Might and Magic Trilogy (2000) * Heroes of Might and Magic III+IV Complete (2002) (by Top Games) * Heroes of Might and Magic IV (2002)
gathering information from these through downloads:
* Heroes of Might and Magic Compendium (1997) * Heroes of Might and Magic Millennium (1999) * Heroes of Might and Magic Platinum Edition (2002) * Heroes of Might and Magic Complete Edition (2008) * Heroes of Might and Magic II Gold(1998) * Heroes of Might and Magic III Complete (2000) * Heroes of Might and Magic IV Complete (2003?)
dont get me wrong, i dont actively support piracy... when i cant buy through retail (unavailability mostly), i buy from stores that sell used games and consoles (i dont use ebay). but these HOMM games have been and are really hard to find here. not even Complete Edition (2008) reached Portugal so it is really a shame. the rest was really rare here - most editions didnt even reached the country through retail.
but i suppose illegal copies are as valid as the legal ones, for the purpose of gathering information. right?
when i get some more free time i will also add whatever more information i recall to each game and links to some homm-related fan sites —Preceding unsigned comment added by LPCA ( talk • contribs) 06:24, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
I have recently bought a DVD called Heroes of Might And Magic III+IV Complete by SoldOut Software (it's on Amazon, so it's not pirated) and its setup process installs all three versions of the Heroes 3 game in one step. Also, the game menu is reworked to contain the original game and add-ons on one screen as you can see in this image:
The main article doesn't reference the title "The Restoration of Erathia" at all, so for someone like me who bought Heroes 4 or Heroes 5 and now wants to go back and play Heroes 3 in order, it can be confusing (unless he or she goes directly to the Heroes 3 page). Therefore, I have added between paranthesis the text besides the Heroes 3 article link.
Why aren't there any JRR Tolkien references/credits in the artcile describing the game. Original Heroes authors have admitted to clear influences. Even an idiot can see the origin of the game in the Silmarillion or the Ring books. Campuscodi ( talk) 21:39, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Does anyone know the story behind this cheat code? Many of the other code can be explained. However, this one, which is probably mostly used, stays a mystery. Biogerm ( talk) 19:01, 22 June 2017 (UTC)
