“Ovi Maps is a free mapping product and service″... The application and maps are free, but the navigation feature is not, although at least some phones ship with a time-limited demo license. DES ( talk) 11:23, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
when was version 3,0 released? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.105.36.29 ( talk) 07:05, 30 November 2009 (UTC)
someone please also write about which models ovi maps is good on such as n95, etc. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.105.36.29 ( talk) 08:41, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
As of April 2011, the 5230 (whose whole selling point was the free GPS) is no longer allowed to download Maps from Ovi, and Maps has disappeared from Nokia Beta Labs. I have doubts that a chart of supported models could shrink quickly enough. 68.0.226.163 ( talk) 02:19, 13 April 2011 (UTC)
In which countries does the navigation works? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.58.145.96 ( talk) 10:51, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
It is not fit for purpose in Spain, from personal experience last month, although previous comment to this effect was secretly censored. Drg40 ( talk) 10:10, 9 April 2017 (UTC)

The article states that Nokia Maps 3D uses LiDAR to generate its 3D maps. However, Nokia Maps actually uses C3 Technology's 3D process, which does not use LiDAR but a proprietary process involving sophisticated image processing to produce the 3D models. Viewing Nokia Maps 3D and looking at the bottom of the screen should display "C3 Technologies". A quick Google search of "Nokia" and "C3" should also reveal this. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wizardjoewaffle ( talk • contribs) 18:14, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
Please see Nokia-sourced document
http://company.nokia.com/sites/default/files/download/investors/2013_nokia_full_form_20-f_bmk.pdf, page #52:
HERE collects data in over 200 field offices, across 56 countries. We have hundreds of cars driving the roads every day. Our most advanced vehicles capture 700 000 data points per second with their 360-degree cameras and LiDAR. As a result, our large data factories make 2.7 million changes to the map every single day.
The acquisition of earthmine brings a new generation of equipment, but the LiDAR units are still in the field. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.147.238.179 ( talk) 00:16, 24 July 2014 (UTC)
Can somebody explain to me how come I see 3D maps of most major US cities with my iPad2? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Delyan ( talk • contribs) 03:17, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
Here Map Creator seems to contain information that fully belongs in this article as a function or subproduct of it's subject. I propose that Here Map Creator somehow be merged into Here (Nokia). Steel1943 ( talk) 13:50, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
I suggest that HERE be merged with NAVTEQ - They are the same company, only under a different name. talk — Preceding undated comment added 18:31, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
I'm not saying the references aren't valid or anything, but it really does read like an ad. I think some rewording is in order to try to bring it back to a neutral point of view. 2601:8:8080:12B:89AA:951C:DDA9:E9E2 ( talk) 01:32, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
HERE Maps has been acquired by a consortium of German automobile corporations, after the acquisition is complete the HERE Maps article can't be named "Here (Nokia)" anymore, I suggest a move to a new name, any ideas? -- 58.187.228.55 ( talk) 11:24, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
Per WP:MOSTM the name 'HERE' should be written 'Here' on Wikipedia, unless 'HERE' is an acronym. Wikipedia does not use all-capitals or all-lowercase just because the company concerned choose to. 194.75.171.106 ( talk) 10:44, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
Was it "HERE" before? As of 2016 I can only see that the official logo spells it "here". So I think the article, and particularly the phrase "(styled as HERE)" in the lede, need a workover in that respect. -- BjKa ( talk) 21:21, 3 April 2016 (UTC)
I am proposing HERE (app) to be merged into the company article. I don't feel like it should have a seperate article, and I believe it would fit good in the company article, particularly after its sale from Nokia. Give your opinions on Talk:HERE (app)#Merge proposal of app article. -- G&CP ( talk) 22:28, 4 January 2016 (UTC)
(I am a HERE employee) The company and the app should remain separate. Most of the company's business is providing map data for vehicle navigation systems, both in-dash and portable units. HERE's largest customers are automobile companies, navigation device companies, and OEMs who make navigation-related products for automobile companies. The HERE "app" is a free consumer-focused product for smartphones (Android and iOS), which accesses that same data. Mlweiland ( talk) 19:44, 8 February 2016 (UTC)
There are some indication aobout HERE's reuse of openstreetmap information? -- Krauss ( talk) 13:12, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
Why is this page subject to secret and unrecorded censorship presumably by the manufacturer? Should it not be labelled as a marketing puff of little factual value? 5.80.133.162 ( talk) 10:06, 9 April 2017 (UTC)
To something like "HERE Technologies"? That way it's clearer and there would be no need of the "(company)" part. -- Tim42 ( talk) 23:19, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
