The information about the alpha globin locus ("gene cluster") should someday be separated from information about the alpha globin gene (which is in the cluster). Non-humans

What about alpha-globin in non-human species? In particular, how many amino acid residues are highly conserved across species? I've read 25 of 141, but my source is not a biological paper, and it does not give a source. ThomHImself ( talk) 09:30, 19 December 2010 (UTC) reply
