This page needs a lot of work. I propose adding the following sections: Function (general function and chemistry of heme proteins, an expanded version of function [heme]); a discussion about iron coordination and iron spin state; the role of heme distortion; types of ligands; how heme proteins are studied; and then a list of heme proteins. I will try as time permits.-- Bjsamelsonjones 15:51, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
What the heck is that (para. 1)? Despite a difference in spelling, a search of the web for "virginal compound" returns only results about vaginal topics.
The result of the move request was: Moved. Pending technical request move. ( non-admin closure) Vpab15 ( talk) 15:31, 8 December 2020 (UTC)
Hemeprotein →
Hemoprotein – This is a procedural nomination, after the proposed speedy renaming of
Category:Hemoproteins to
Category:Hemeproteins was declined by
User:Neodop. They note that "The article was moved to "hemeprotein" because that is the name of the Medical Subject Heading (MeSH) in the US as decided by a librarian many years ago. However, the common name is and has always been "hemoproteins" and Google Books shows a 10:1 ratio in favor, so the article has the wrong name, not the category." Either the article should be moved back or the proposed category rename should go ahead.
