Hemant Kanoria (born August 5, 1962) is the Chairman and Managing Director of Srei Infrastructure Finance Limited ("Srei") [1] [2]. It is one of India's largest holistic infrastructure institutions [3] [4] with USD 5.5 billion of consolidated assets under management ("AUM") [5]. Hemant is also a Trustee of Kanoria Foundation [6], which under its umbrella has entities with a total asset base of USD 10 billion. Early life Hemant was born to Dr. Hari Prasad and Champa Devi on August 5, 1962, in Kolkata, India. He grew up with four younger siblings, Sanjeev, Sunil, Sujit, and Manisha Lohia. At the age of 17, he took to managing two family-owned flour mills post which, he went on to become an entrepreneur in the field of infrastructure equipment finance. Business Career

The initiative has opened up revenue opportunities for over 60,000 village level entrepreneurs ("VLEs") [17] who are providing these services through IT-enabled Sahaj service centers across India.
