these aren't just officer ranks? they are NCO and enlisted mens ranks to WikipedianProlific (Talk) 12:57, 15 September 2007 (UTC) reply

Not any more. 79.107.237.238 ( talk) 12:34, 7 May 2009 (UTC) reply

This article needs some cleaning and disambiguation. E.g. ΔΕΑ means "Δόκιμος Έφεδρος Αξιωματικός", which translates as "Probationary Reserve Officer" (PRO), and not "Δοκιμος Έφεδρος Ανθυπολοχαγός", which would mean "Probationary Reserve 2nd Lieutenant". PRO's are draftees and get promoted to 2nd Lieutenants near the end of their tour, and they are referred to in documents just as "Έφεδρος Ανθυπολοχαγός" (Reserve 2nd Lieutant), and plainly "Ανθυπολοχαγός" verbally, with no reference to their "Reserve" property. Also, the colored stripes of PROs denote their corps (e.g. Infantry, Armor etc.) and have different colors depending on that. EpiVictor ( talk) 00:58, 11 March 2008 (UTC) reply

Missing images

Why won't the 1st Lt (Ypolochagos) and Cpt (Lochagos) images appear? 79.107.237.238 ( talk) 12:34, 7 May 2009 (UTC) reply

The images are not loaded in Template:Ranks and Insignia of NATO Armies/OF/Greece, possibly because the images don't exist in Commons:Category:Hellenic Army rank insignia. Sv1xv ( talk) 13:19, 7 May 2009 (UTC) reply
Images added. They existed, but had been deleted some months ago for some reason. I made new ones from the Anthypolokhagos insignia and uploaded them. Constantine 16:24, 7 May 2009 (UTC) reply
A whole bunch are gone again. And on the Other Ranks Insignia page, there are no images left at all! Vandalism? 74.73.236.122 ( talk) 04:52, 4 December 2009 (UTC) reply
It seems that many military rank insignia fell victims of a copyright paranoia epidemic and were deleted as copyright violations. Someone must recreate the artworks from scratch. Sv1xv ( talk) 05:53, 4 December 2009 (UTC) reply
But what constitutes creating them "from scratch"? Whose copyright is being asserted, anyway? And why were the remaining images spared? 74.73.236.122 ( talk) 15:03, 7 December 2009 (UTC) reply
Because they had been subsequently edited/corrected by me, meaning I could claim copyright, so that I re-released them (at Sv1xv's suggestion) with a suitable license... Go figure... Constantine 17:28, 7 December 2009 (UTC) reply
