I've moved Hawkshaw to Hawkshaw, Scottish Borders, and created a Hawkshaw disambiguation page. I've used the Scottish Borders local government council area of Scotland to recognise this Hawkshaw from other Hawkshaws. If it should be Hawkshaw, Peeblesshire or Hawkshaw, Tweeddale, then I've made a mistake. It should be moved to the correct one. Cayden 21:55, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
I think that to start the description in this way does not serve well the proud site of an important Scottish family. In fact, the houses are some way from the site of Hawkshaw (the fortified ancestral home), and are part of a hamlet that grew up some distance away, nearer the main road. They are all that exists of that small settlement - but it was not the original place with that name. Agendum ( talk) 20:55, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
