My editing on the ships of the Haskell-class is dedicated to all the men who served on them or rode them to battle. Especially Lt. [jg] Robert G. P. Shalders, USN, Engineer, "B" Division, USS Lanier (APA-125); whose all too brief acquaintance inspired me. I wish I'd had more time to hear his story. -- J Clear 03:33, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

The test says that 117 have been built and 14 have been cancelled. The class overview says that 119 have been built and 13 have been cancelled. Anyone knows which of these numbers are correct? -- JogyB ( talk) 14:04, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just modified one external link on Haskell-class attack transport. Please take a moment to review my edit. If you have any questions, or need the bot to ignore the links, or the page altogether, please visit this simple FaQ for additional information. I made the following changes:

The number of landing craft in the box and the text are very different. The text says 23 LCVP, 1 LCM(3) and 1 LCM(6). There's a reference to support that but the link leads to another Wikipedia article that does not contain the information or an additional link to the information (that I can find). The box says 12 LCVP, 2 LCM, and 3 LCPL (which is apparently a predecessor to the LCVP, about the same size but without a ramp). The box information has no reference.
Trying to solve this myself, I Googled for non-Wikipedia information and found this https://pwencycl.kgbudge.com/H/a/Haskell_class.htm which makes things worse -- it says 2 LCM(3), 21-22 LCVP, 1-2 LCPL, and 1 LCPR (which appears to be another variation or predecessor of the LVCP, but I can't find good information). This is closer to the text information than that in the box, but they still don't agree.
I suppose it's likely that in a class with this many ships there was variation among them. I suppose the box and text could acknowledge that and then give information for one representative member of the class. But I'm not an expert (I started this Wikipedia session trying to find out how the LCVPs were carried near the Normandy Beach on D-Day [which I still haven't learned] -- I'm a consumer of information on this subject, not a source) so I don't know what information would be representative.
Here's a second non-Wikipedia source: https://ww2db.com/ship_spec.php?ship_id=767 It says the Haskell Class carried 2 LCM, 2 LCPL, 2 LCPR, 18 LCVP. If we say that the LCPL and LCPR are both varieties of LCVP, than that's close to the text also (it merely doesn't differentiate between the LCMs). If I HAD to make a change, I'd change the text and box to agree with this latest source. But it'd still be a judgment call. The author of that page is an amateur enthusiast, not a professional military historian. One of the page's sources is Wikipedia (how circular) - though obviously he didn't get the landing craft information here. I looked at both other sources cited for the article and can't find landing craft information there either. Gms3591 ( talk) 14:44, 7 June 2019 (UTC)
