In response to the copyright violation assertion -- This edited article was originally from the Jewish Encyclopedia 1906, which is no longer under copyright, nor can it be replaced under copyright -- although the digitized version of the entire book can be copyrighted as a single database which may not be copied in its entirety in one fell swoop. Needs someone to go through and add links, italics, etc. Would have been nice if the original contributer had done this. Perhaps they were in a rush...
