Should HTML Tidier be mentioned in the external links of this article? -- Kainaw (talk) 19:04, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
Ever since HTML Tidy source code was release, there has been many branches. People take the original code and enhance it. There are so many different HTML Tidy variants and they all produce different results. Here is a comparison table.
Variant URL | Author | GUI/CL | Version/Date | Enhancements on top of Dave's HTMLTidy |
---|---|---|---|---|
http://sourceforge.net/projects/tidy/ | Dave Raggett | CL | 04-Aug-2000 | |
http://dev.int64.org/htmltrim.html | Cory Nelson | GUI | v0.2.8 | |
http://www.bradsoft.com/topstyle/ | N/A | GUI | v3.12 (trial) | |
http://int64.sourceforge.net/tidy.html | phrosty@gmail.com | CL | 05-Apr-2006 | |
http://perso.orange.fr/ablavier/TidyGUI/ | André Blavier | GUI | v1.1.5 26-May-2001 | |
http://www.notetab.com/ | N/A | GUI | N/A | |
http://tswebeditor.net.tc/ | N/A | GUI | v2.2.20.79 20-Sep-2006 | |
http://users.rcn.com/creitzel/tidy.html#tidyui | Charles Reitzel | GUI | v1.0 20-Feb-2003 | |
http://wxtidy.sourceforge.net/ | Gary Harris | GUI | v0.1b |
What is the different between TidyClassic and TidyLib?
I know there's dozens of HTML Tidy variants. Will try to cover all of them as well as more details on their features, etc. For now, we are covering GUI and CL based HTML Tidys. That means no bindings yet. Also, CL stands for command line.
