The photograph of Carnarvon with the submarines is currently dated "...sometime between the 1915 commissioning of the submarines and the 4 May 1917 sale of H6 to the Netherlands."
HMS H6 ran aground on 19/1/16, and seems to have been interned in the Netherlands from then until the sale. Carnarvon spent
all of January 1916 on the American side of the Atlantic, so it's very unlikely this picture was taken that year. Looking at
the 1915 logs, it seems most likely this is June-July at Halifax (lots of "in floating dock" and submarines around) - but in any case, it's definitely 1915 and no later.
