Get me a reliable source that says satch boogie is confirmed, and then it can be added. You don't just add songs without sources. Nothing that i've seen has proved Satch Boogie to be a track in the game yet. 71.149.162.76 ( talk) 01:19, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
I see "Satch Boogie" was deleted again, because a "'random screenshot' on a forum is not a reliable source." I understand being wary of using forum gossip, but I think this should be considered much more solid than idle chatter. The screenshot is not something "random" that just popped up on a forum without any explanation or context. It comes from Scorehero's liveblog ( http://www.scorehero.com/liveblog, click replay and scroll to the very end) of an event at Neversoft where prominent members of Scorehero and a few other sites were given the chance to preview the game and release some information with Neversoft's permission. The inclusion of "Satch Boogie" is corroborated by another liveblog from someone at the event ( http://community.guitarhero.com/forums/55708/forum_topics/119869#forumposts-1534392, about four or five posts from the bottom). This doesn't seem any less reliable (and, to me, even more solid considering the in-game screenshot) than the sourcing for "Bullet with Butterfly Wings", which only comes from that early Stuff article and was conspicuously not mentioned in the press release announcing "Today" and the Pumpkins DLC. I won't stick it back in, but can we reconsider? Dmwiki ( talk) 15:40, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
Actually this might all be moot. Gamespot UK says Activision has released the full 86: http://uk.gamespot.com/news/6197604.html?tag=latestheadlines;title;1. Reliable? Or wait a bit to see if more US sites pick it up? If this list is true, "Light My Fire," "In the End" and "Bullet with Butterfly Wings" were incorrect. It has been announced that people in the United Kingdom who pre-order Guitar Hero World Tour's ‘super bundle’, which retails for around £150 and comes with a guitar controller, a microphone and drums, Activision will give away a second guitar controller completely free.
“This programme signals our enormous commitment to Guitar Hero World Tour,” Activision’s marketing director for the UK and Ireland David Tyler told MCV.

According to that video, put out by Gamestop, anybody who preorders World Tour from a Gamestop store will automatically have all songs unlocked. This, of course, can only mean that they are either packing a separate disc (highly unlikely and would likely upset many players) or they are simply giving out a cheat to unlock all songs. Either way, it's worth looking into a little more if possible and possibly adding I suppose. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dfsghjkgfhdg ( talk • contribs) 02:44, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

"Vicarious Visions has confirmed that controllers developed for the Wii version of Rock Band will not be compatible with the Wii version of World Tour." It is confirmed that Rock Band Drums, microphones and guitars are not compatible AND do not WORK with Guitar Hero World Tour, although World Tour instruments DO work with Rock band. Simply put, SingStar microphones are NOT compatible with Guitar Hero: World Tour for the PS2. But Rock Band`s mics DO work. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.4.201.77 ( talk) 14:58, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
Should this article stay semi-protected? The game has been out for about 2 weeks and the original reason for the page being put on semi-protection was because of the disputes over the release date and because of people adding songs to the track list that weren't actually going to be in the game. I doubt there will be much more "vandalism" like that now that the game is now on the market. Wolfemiester ( talk) 22:10, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
First, Amazon.com wants $282 ($95 over retail) for the Wii band bundle, and that's the cheapest option available at Amazon. My impression is this is related to a massive shortage of the bundles. I think it's worth mentioning in the article, but I'm not certain. The band bundles for the other consoles are all at standard retail.
Secondly, Activision/Red Octane support says only previous GH controllers are compatible with the Wii version and no other peripherals are compatible. I have tried two different standard USB mics and neither of them worked, so I'm guessing the marketing hype about "any USB microphone" compatibility was a bunch of bullshit. There is an interview with the CEO of Vicarious Visions at IGN where he stated "The microphone however is a wired USB microphone (also Nintendo's recommended approach), so any USB microphone will work." If it's indeed true that some or most USB microphones are not actually compatible with the game, this is also worth mentioning in the article. This all reminds me of the stereo problem with GH3, and the download content that was promised and never materialized. Activision just doesn't care until they get tangled in lawsuits... Some guy ( talk) 04:29, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
I just tested the singstar PS2 microphones and they are a no go as well. I tried both usb ports, as well as swapping the mike ports on the usba adapter, as well as 2 resets. I noticed some Ebay sellers need to change their ad as it is currently not compatible with our Wii. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.215.230.224 ( talk) 03:37, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
Released in North America is all it says. There's no mention of a european release or any other releases. Should these be added or not? (I say yes) -- MooNFisH ( talk) 13:35, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
In the first section of the article (gameplay), it claims that during band mode play, all members of the band must do star power movements at the same time to initiate star power, however, this isn't the case as each member of the band can initiate their star power seperatly. I have the Wii version of GH:WT, and with the drums, you do not get "armored" notes, but you get "accented" notes which are like "armored" notes, however you do not need to hit the note harder to play the note, but you score more points based on how hard you hit the note. ChrizC ( talk) 22:10, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
I notice this article lists John Devecka's MTV Drumscape as the first music game. I can easily name more than 10 music games that came earlier. Perhaps the most obvious would be PaRappa the Rapper or maybe Karaoke Studio. Either way, I think this statement needs to be qualified in some way. Perhaps it could be changed to say " MTV Drumscape was the first music game to use drums," but we also need some kind of reference for this. - Thibbs ( talk) 22:15, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

In this video on youtube, you can clearly see travis barker as the drummer, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kGbN3gc7t4 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.136.204.242 ( talk) 21:46, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

"Vicarious Visions has confirmed that controllers developed for the Wii version of Rock Band will not be compatible with the Wii version of World Tour." That needs to be confirmed or deleted, especially with the release so soon is a time we do not need disinformation. 114.75.10.27 ( talk) 15:16, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
It is probably because the Guitar Hero World Tour drums require the Wii Remote to go into it and the Rock Band drums connect via USB port —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.45.23.105 ( talk) 23:35, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=Kn4LTICsFdg At :50, their controllers are disconnected for some reason, pausing the game. After, it shows them what's coming and gives them 4 seconds, should this be added? -- MasterOfTheXP ( talk) 00:45, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
The pause-timer is actually confirmed in Game Informer, issue 186, page 72. I'd add it in myself, but...the page is protected. Inane Asylum ( talk) 13:36, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/55371 They said GUITAR HERO 3 instruments will work and since Guitar Hero World Tour guitars and Guitar Hero 3 guitars are cross compatible, I'm guessing it should work. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.24.54.185 ( talk) 19:10, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
THey just released some new GH:WT songs on psn, could someone make a table of this songs, and make a new page called List Of Downloadable Songs On Guitar Hero: World Tour, and put it on there. if you can think of a shorter title also post this underneath my post. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Estemshorn ( talk • contribs) 03:45, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

If anyone can provide their own free-content pictures of the GHWT controllers (at least the guitar and drums), we need to have that done since the existing image is no longer appropriate. -- MASEM 23:00, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
I just read on Joystiq that the drum set for the PS3 version of GH:WT is currently incompatible with Rock Band 2 for the same console, and is being recognized as a microphone instead, although a patch will likely be issued in the future. Bolmedias ( talk) 10:14, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
This article does not look to be hurting for sources, but I stumbled across a PC World article that may or may not be of use. ( Guyinblack25 talk 18:01, 28 October 2008 (UTC))
I see I can't edit the article, so I'll post my findings here.
Instruments from the PS2 version of Rock Band ARE compatible with GH:WT. [1] [2]

It is confirmed that Rock Band Drums, microphones and guitars are not compatible AND do not WORK with Guitar Hero World Tour, although World Tour instruments DO work with Rock band. I tried using the drums form rock band on world tour but it wouldnt work at all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.187.148.133 ( talk) 21:26, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
