For much of the post war period the bank was known as National and Grindlays. The name arose from the acquisition of Grindlays by National Bank of India and it was the latter that was the dominant force. It would be better thereofre to retitle this entry as National Bank of India or, probably best, National and Grindlays.
The emphasis of the article could therefore be moved more towards NBI
