discovering artists such as Muddy Waters, which later became central to his musical evolution: should this be "who later became"?
Allman always maintained that Herring had told him to take the deal and he would take the fall for it: I don't follow this; what deal?
the first verse introduced a story, expounded upon it in the second, and the third may serve as an epilogue: needs a bit of tweaking: as it stands "the first verse" is the subject of "expounded".
