Anyone knows Why this island is called "Grand Turk" island? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 85.105.19.226 ( talk) 13:24, 23 December 2006 (UTC).
An experienced seaman had once told me that these islands were named so because of a big donation made by the Turkish-American brothers (owners of Atlantic Records) Ahmet and Nesuhi Ertegun. Akilic06 20:55, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: move disambiguation page and redirect base name to the island. The deletion of the disambiguation page can be raised separately on its talk page or AFD. -- JHunterJ ( talk) 11:30, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
– 'Grand Turk' is currently a disambiguation page. 'Grand Turk Island', which should be simply 'Grand Turk', is a main island and capital of the Turks and Caicos and far more known than the articles on this page. 'Grand Turk Island' should be renamed to 'Grand Turk', and the current 'Grand Turk' should be a disambiguation page. 142.54.207.50 ( talk) 14:23, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
