Good job Vidkun! An inspiration to myself, & I hope to others! I know little about Mass GL, or I'd help. I guess I'll get crackin on CO... Also, suggest maybe in the future putting these pages, while in the development-stage, (to be deleted w/it's creation of course), under "List of Masonic Grand Lodges/(future article name)", to possibly help with collaboration? First: Great article Vidkun! I only have one question... you say that GL Mass is the third oldest Grand Lodge (after GLE and GL Ireland). I would think that the Grand Lodge of Scotland would be older. Not so? (I am not contradicting your statement ... just curious). Blueboar 19:57, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
I delinked Antients where Pvosta had linked it, as it was referencing a style not a specific Grand Lodge. In fact, those Antient Freemasons petitioned the GL of Scotland, not the Antient's GL of England. Prior to their petition of GLS, they were unchartered/unwarranted Antient's style Masons meeting on their own, as was common before creation, spread and colonization by GLs.-- Vidkun 19:07, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
The link to History of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has a problem... it currently redirects to the Grand Lodge's home page. I will assume they are simply updating the history page, and that it will return soon... but if not, we will need to find a new source (this is one of the problems with using web based sources). In fact, we should probably look for another source or two anyway... single source articles will inevitably draw POV questions (Im not saying that the article is POV... only that someone might question it if there is only one source). This section does not exist, and needs to, but I do not have the information at hand right now. We need to document when/how St. John's GL (formerly PGL under Moderns) and the Mass. GL (formerly PGL under Scotland) united, and how/when the last surviving lodge of the PGL of MA-Scottish GL, the Lodge of St. Andrew, joined with the MWGL of Massachusetts.-- Vidkun ( talk) 14:27, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
He doesn't meet the WP guidelines for notability. No one is notable for simply being a Grand Master of a Grand Lodge, period. MSJapan ( talk) 20:58, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
It was under suggestion to "The article Roger W. Pageau was nominated for deletion. The debate was closed on 30 September 2009 with a consensus to merge the content into Grand Lodge of Massachusetts. " 66.152.241.146 ( talk) 00:01, 9 October 2009 (UTC) That's the action that was taken per the suggestion of the nomination for delection, and that's what I helped facilitate.
I added... Dr. Joseph Warren was the Grand Master of the Lodge of St. Andrews when he was killed by the British at the Battle of Bunker Hill. He was replaced as Grand Master by John Hancock who would become President of Continental Congress and be the only member of Congress to actually sign the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. Paul Revere was also a Mason and member of the Lodge. Bostonian Samuel Adams and his cousin John Adams from nearby Quincy were not Masons. - Green Dragon Tavern visitor 73.46.49.164 ( talk) 17:36, 4 October 2017 (UTC)
