The article is short and it does not describe Govind in full. For Indian people, the youtube link describes more about the philosophical details of Govinda. Please explain why you deleted it? For more details about youtube, please see

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________ "... the character of Gopala Krishna is often considered to be non-Vedic in one interpretations, while it can also be based on the popular understanding or rather misunderstanding of the Rig Vedic texts.[1]" Can someone please explain this a little more deeply? This is really confusing to me. Thank you. 76.167.167.53 ( talk) —Preceding undated comment added 05:35, 24 June 2011 (UTC).
I may be mistaken, but most of the explanations in the Etymology section don't feel like etymology at all. With no offense to anyone for whom those exegetical meanings hold spiritual significance, only the last one ("protector of cows") appears potentially plausible as actual etymology.
