This article began, I believe, as a political rant by a banned user known for insults against woman. While the article may have some merit, I believe it would be better to move this article to an article that already exists that also needs help, which are, Day care and Child care. Please evaluate the links below to help in the decision whether to merge or fix this article under the topic name as it stands:

Though I recommend it be merged to Day care so to include a more global approach covering the history of day care and childcare, its purpose, government subsidies, studies in other areas of the world as well. "Government child care centers in the US" really began to be considered during WWII, if I'm not mistaken, because more woman had to take jobs while husbands were overseas. Feminists played a part, sure, but as this article suggests it was "their core platform" and began in the 60s, which is, in my opinion, most likely false. But I could be wrong by misunderstanding the purpose of the article. I can't spend the time needed to fix this article, and hope others take an interest in it.
