Another example of Mormons putting entries into Wikipedia on persons whose accomplishments do not merit encyclopedic interest. Madsen's doings as here listed do not reach the level of general public interest. This entry has been done presumably by fans of Gordon Madsen. I confess to being one of these, but that by itself doesn't warrant Wikipedia. He is a kind, good-humored Mormon intellectual, a man of many gifts whose path crossed my own years ago, and I have done what I can to organize the topics and improve the flow. I doubt Madsen himself would think much of his having such an entry. The world at large is not interested in the fine details of Mormon history. Madsen properly belongs in an encyclopedia of notable 20th-century Mormons. Someone could publish one and make a mint, but they would have to be more interested in things Mormon than I am. --Alan Rasmussen, Tucson — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:558:6008:B:5151:4F3F:E435:1006 ( talk) 16:23, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
