Yom, The statement about Gondar having been the second largest city in the world with the population of 60,000 is clearly incorrect. If it says so in the book, then the book must be wrong. What about Paris, Beijing, Istanbul, London, Amsterdam, Naples, Rome, Moscow? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Introscop ( talk • contribs) 23:10, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
I'm surprised to see no mention of the historical fact that at one point Aragon tried to become king of Gonder. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.188.228.243 ( talk) 23:19, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
Fasilides castle was not founded by the Portugese (as per the subtitle to the picture), this is factually inaccurate and a eurocentric distortion. Fasilides banished the Portugese from his kingdom before he built the castle complex at Gondar. There was portugese influence to the construction technique but this is not the same thing — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.55.76.19 ( talk) 20:34, 3 November 2011 (UTC)

the jews of gondar were imporntant part of the city yet they disapear from this page — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.102.239.2 ( talk) 19:13, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
I am removing this source, because it applies for the entire province of Gondar/Begemder prior to 1991, and not the city. I found it odd because the average temperatures a little too high.

I replaced it with Climate-data.org which has extensive data for cities. https://en.climate-data.org/africa/ethiopia/amhara/gonder-1183/

@ The Supermind: Gonder and Gondar are obviously both romanized versions as sources indicate. The sources are in the article as well, so kindly revert your edit. Thanks Dawit S Gondaria ( talk) 14:31, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
There has been some disagreement about how many and which images should be in the infobox. Due to the different views I am starting this topic so that it can be discussed and then developed into a RfC if required. Gusfriend ( talk) 12:30, 27 May 2022 (UTC)
