This article needs serious work. The story about Þorgeir Ljósvetningagoði throwing his idols in this waterfall is regarded as a modern myth. The earliest version of this story is from the late 19th century. Furthermore, this is only one of at least 6 waterfalls in Iceland named Goðafoss. Even the myth about Þorgeir Ljósvetningagoði does not make clear which of these waterfalls is referred to. Finally, there is no reference to the myth about Þorgeir Ljósvetningagoði tossing his idols in Goðafoss in Ari Þorgilsson's Íslendingabók. See for ex. https://www.visindavefur.is/svar.php?id=70316 Tryggvi bt ( talk) 19:30, 14 July 2017 (UTC)
Does anyone know if those idols were found in the waterfall? Siúnrá ( talk) 16:35, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
The 30 m width for the falls does not seem correct. Did you mean 300 m? BoulderBob ( talk) 02:13, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
