I can't find any evidence that Bowie ever played 'All the young dudes' or 'Dancing in the street' during this tour. Can anyone back this up? 87Fan ( talk) 02:58, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
correct- they weren't even rehearsed (been checking bootlegs!), i wonder if the confusion stems from the Frampton Guitar solo on some versions of "Time" i can't decide if its a deliberate quote from ATYD or a coincidence. 79.69.237.196 ( talk) 16:39, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
79.69.237.196 ( talk) 16:39, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
I'm sure I've read at some point that the Glass Spider Tour, for all its perceived faults, opened the door for other theatrical tours, like those that artists like Madonna, Britney Spears and Lady Gaga have done over the years. I cannot for the life of me find that reference anywhere, so I'm hoping someone out there in the wikiverse can help bring those references to light. I'm also interested if anyone has anything discussing how some of Bowie's contemporaries may also have had an influence (like Peter Gabriel/Genesis). I do believe I've read that this tour had a lasting impact on the touring landscape of other artists and I think we would be remiss to fail to note that at some point in this article.
Any pointers are appreciated.

"David Bowie Concert 1987 Having earlier lived and recorded in West Berlin, on 6 June 1987, David Bowie played a concert close to the Wall. This was accompanied with violent rioting in East Berlin. According to Tobias Ruther, these protests in East Berlin were the first in the sequence of riots that led to those of November 1989. On his death, the German Foreign Office tweeted "Good-bye, David Bowie. You are now among #Heroes. Thank you for helping to bring down the #wall." " DrArsenal ( talk) 16:00, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
Ok I've put a lot of effort into improving this article; if interested, please help me verify the class of this article. I've taken a stab that it's a B-class article; prove me wrong or prove me right! Thanks 87Fan ( talk) 17:19, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
FWIW--I attended the Philadelphia shows in July 1987, and can state that Duran Duran did NOT open for Bowie at Vet Stadium. I definitely recall Squeeze as an opener--there may have been one other, as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Soccermavn ( talk • contribs) 18:18, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

Hey 87fan, I've been letting this one sit since I didn't want you to have two reviews from me in a row... but now it's the oldest article on GAN!?! Where's the love for Bowie? (Actually, the tour/artist queue seems to be the slowest on all of GAN for whatever reason, regardless of the artist.)
Anyway, I'll be glad to take it so you don't have to wait any longer. Comments to follow in the next 2-4 days. Thanks in advance for your work! -- Khazar2 ( talk) 12:50, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
Okay, this looks good on first pass. The tone is dispassionate and neutral, the prose is strong, and the statements are largely well-sourced. I've played with formatting a bit; as always, feel free to revert anything with which you disagree. Initial action points:
Looking at the sources, I see a number of problems here. The biggest issue is that Wikipedia policy forbids linking to material that is likely to be a copyright violation. Material that Bowie fansites are reposting from newspapers, magazines, etc., without a note about reprint permission, can be presumed to be copyright violation; ditto any excerpts from news programs posted without explicit permission. Much of the following needs to be delinked, but that doesn't mean the sources need to be removed per se--but they will need to be identified in a way that someone can find them without going to the copyvio. Is that possible? -- Khazar2 ( talk) 15:04, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
I'm putting this on hold to give you a chance to address the above. Because of the source issues above, I'm leaning toward not listing this one for now so it can be straightened out at more leisure, but I know you've had a long wait for this review. If you feel like the above is fixable, I'll be glad to keep going--let me know your thoughts. -- Khazar2 ( talk) 15:08, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

All official promotional material from this tour, posters, tour program, shirts, etc, all mention the tour name as "The Glass Spider Tour", including the "The" as part of the name. Other tours pages on WP have added the word to its title and lead paragraph based on the same argument, as The Virgin Tour and The MDNA Tour by Madonna, The Magic Summer Tour by New Kids on the Block, The Monster Ball Tour by Lady Gaga, The Doo-Wops & Hooligans Tour by Bruno mars. I open this space to debate about adding the word and move the article to The Glass Spider Tour, its official name on all official mromotional material. -- Mr00Mister ( talk) 18:40, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
