There is a slight mixup in the writeup which I am not qualified to correct. Jessop's innings at Bradford was in 1900 while he became Wisden Cricketer of the year in 1898. So those two are not directly related.

I've upped his WP Cricket importance rating. As a legend of the game, I think he merits being high. JH ( talk page) 19:06, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
I can find no evidence to support the claim that Jessop played for Cheltenham Town. I have good evidence that he played for "The Casuals". Additionally it appears that Cheltenham Town came in to existence in 1935 or so, when Jessop was 61! —Preceding unsigned comment added by [[User:|User:]] ([[User talk:|talk]] • contribs) 81.5.160.94
I don't know anything about this but looked around. Though they enterered the FA cup and turned professional only in the 1930s, according to the club website, they were in existence since 1887. The club's site also mentions that Jessop played for them. His Wisden obit says only that he played for Gloucestershire CFC. I also had a quick glance through [Gerald Brodribb]'s biography but he seems to have said hardly anything about football. Tintin 18:50, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
