My maternal ancester, Commanding Officer, 3rd U.S. Infantry, 1815 Mobile, Alabama. Wed Margaret Hollinger, 1815. Russell County, Alabama, named for him. Buried Magnolia Cemetery, Mobile 1861 (see Find-a-Grave for picture). Born Abingdon, Virginia. The son of Battle of Kings Mountain, Maj. Andrew Russell, Jr., and Margaret Christian, from 1730's Beverly Manor, Christian's Creek, Augusta County, Vrginia.
